Gradus Sponsors CFA/CFJ Apprentice of the Year Competition
Now in its fourth year, the CFA / CFJ Apprentice of the Year competition recognises the achievements of apprentices and aims to raise awareness of the opportunities available in the flooring industry.
This year’s winner was Calum Gillies of Islay Flooring and Home Furniture, who received a cheque for £500 from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), along with a host of prizes from the competition sponsors.
Gradus provided specialist tools and branded Gradus polo shirts as part of the prize, which Calum was presented with during a presentation at the Flooring Industry Training Association (FITA) Training Centre in Loughborough.
Anthony Roberts, Marketing Product Manager for Gradus, comments: “We would like to congratulate Calum for his achievement. We are delighted to be amongst the sponsors of the CFA/CFJ Apprentice of the Year competition as part of their initiative to encourage the training and development of young people in the flooring industry.”
Richard Catt, CEO for Contract Flooring Association, added: “The Government wants to create three million apprenticeships by the year 2020 and there is no doubt that the flooring industry has a role to play. This award recognises the achievements of young apprentices like Calum and aims to encourage more young people to join the industry.”
