Gradus Makes an Entrance for Award-Winning Landmark Medical Building at Queen Mary, University of London

Contract interiors specialist Gradus has installed high performance primary barrier matting in the entrance to an award-winning medical building and architectural landmark at Queen Mary, University of London.

The Blizard Building accommodates 400 cell and molecular research scientists on a single research floor, equivalent in size to a football pitch and the largest of its kind in a UK university. Also used as a seminar and reception area, the glass-walled building was honoured at the 2009 International Architecture Awards for its pioneering open plan design, suspended ceiling pods and its innovative use of artwork, lighting and colour.

Gradus’ Esplanade Plus primary barrier matting with Boulevard 5000HD insert in Jackdaw was installed in the building’s busy main entrance to prevent dirt and moisture from being carried into the building, reducing the risk of slip accidents and protecting adjoining floorcoverings, lowering maintenance and cleaning costs.
