Gradus Lighting Creates Bright Sparks at Queen Mary University, London

Lighting specialist Gradus has supplied Queen Mary University, London with step lighting solutions for six of its newly refurbished lecture theatres.
 
With 16,000 students, Queen Mary is one of the largest University of London colleges, and has invested more than £250 million over the last five years in improving its facilities.

Gradus supplied and installed its Interlok Advance step lighting in White to create a pinpoint lighting effect on the stairs in one of the lecture theatres. Gradus’ Continuity step lighting in white was installed in a further five lecture theatres, to create a continuous lighting effect across each step.

The step lighting provides a non-intrusive lighting effect to define the edge of each step and helps students and staff to safely navigate the lecture theatres in reduced light conditions.

The LED lighting was used with hardwearing aluminium stair edging profiles, to provide a durable solution.

By utilising LED technology, the systems offer an extra low voltage alternative to mains voltage lighting and are easy to install.
