GRADUS FABRICS BRING HOMELY FEEL TO THE PEELE
Soft furnishing materials from Gradus Fabrics have been specified for The Peele care home in Manchester as part of its £6.3 million development.
Gradus, working in partnership with Bartell Contract Furnishings Limited, was asked to provide fabrics for the 108 bedrooms at the care home to help achieve a warm, comfortable feel which was also fit for purpose. Specifiers chose to use materials from the Gradus Finesse range to achieve the appropriate mix of functionality and aesthetics, and decided that four different colours should be used to avoid an establishment feel and to create a ‘home-away-from-home’ atmosphere.
The Finesse collection, launched in January 2006, was used for curtains, pelmets, tie backs, roller blinds and bed throws in the care home and the chosen colour schemes were Botanica/Chambray Gold, Botanica/Chambray Willow, Rococo Light/Chambray Aubergine, Rococo Light/Chambray Azure. The fabric, which meets the required flammability and durability standards for the contract market, offered a high performance solution for the development.
Pamela Cairns from Gradus Fabrics commented: “Careful use of colour schemes, finishes and textures can all make a difference to older people who may have sensory difficulties, and the fabrics used have a unisex quality which is perfect for the project. We have managed to achieve a finish that is both practical and aesthetically pleasing and we are delighted with the results achieved on this project.”
