As part of Dementia Action Week, the Alzheimers Society is calling for reform of the social care system, to better provide and protect those supporting people living with dementia (more detail can be found here - https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/get-involved/dementia-action-week)
Last month, we launched our own 'See Through Their Eyes' campaign, which encourages designers to consider how those living with eyesight or cognitive impairments (like dementia) see their environment and then understand how to use colour contrast to help.
We saw first-hand how respite care centres (crucial to the social care system), like Age UK Tameside, look for guidance and help to better facilitate those who require it. And this work is fortunately a growing consideration wider healthcare buildings and public spaces.
