Gradus Supplies Barrier Matting to Bus Station

The new Haymarket bus station provides more capacity for local bus services in the Leicester area, with 11 additional stands, which will allow 23 buses to drop off or pick up at any one time.
Gradus’ Esplanade 8500 primary barrier matting was installed throughout the new bus station. Constructed from double grey rubber wipers and silver anodised aluminium scraper linking strips, Esplanade 8500 is an ideal solution for this busy environment.
Garry Scott, project director at Leicester City Council, said: “We invested in the ambitious project to build a new, larger and more efficient bus station on the site of the existing one.
“Thousands of passengers pass through Haymarket bus station everyday, consequently we required a heavy-duty mat that would withstand this demanding environment and Gradus were able to supply us with a suitable product.”

Esplanade 8500 with silver anodised aluminium linking strips has been rigorously tested to withstand weights of 150kg per wheel to a minimum of 30,000 passes, ensuring suitability for use. It is also tested for flammability and achieves a low risk of slip using the HSL ramp test for slip-resistance.”
Esplanade 8500 can be manufactured to most shapes and sizes, on approval of a template, and can be installed alongside Gradus’ Boulevard secondary barrier carpet for a complete matting solution.
